There are a few things that might cause your house or apartment to feel humid, even with your Air Conditioner running:
1. Check if there are open windows, or doors. If so- close them.
2. Is there excessive water, or humidity build-up in an adjoining location, such as a basement or crawl space? Eliminate excess moisture by sealing, or installing moisture proof barrier. A Dehumidifier can also remove humidity.
3. Is Air Conditioner Fan Control set to "Continuous" run? If so, switch to "Auto". Continuously running the fan when the compressor has cycled off, can cause moisture from the evaporator to enter supply air stream, increasing the humidity level in the house.
The next possible causes will require a service call:
4. Has this been a gradual occurring condition? It could be the Air Conditioner condensate drain is plugged.
It could also mean,
5. Your Air Conditioner is low on refrigerant (caused by leak), or is undersized (not enough btu's).
